After 29 amazing years, CitySonnet has closed its doors.
CitySonnet began with the energy of New York, a love of travel and art, and a passion for introducing guests to the real New York. As a pioneer among New York City’s early accommodation agencies, CitySonnet was established in 1995 in Greenwich Village. Early guests stayed with our neighborhood artists and friends. Pauline Frommer personally visited our accommodations; Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, and Condé Nast Traveler heaped their praises. Having lived in Africa and Asia, we sincerely believe that staying in private homes connects people and makes the world smaller and friendlier.

A BIT OF HISTORY
Our building, circa 1939, when every single building in New York City was photographed. The proprietor of the Hat Cleaning and Shoe Shine Store, was the father-in-law of Mrs. Romano, from whom we purchased the building in 2001.
